Zurich Marathon, April 13th 2003
Now this has been the first Zurich Marathon in the last couple of years and of course the first in the new millenium.
It appears to be early in the year, as April over here in Europe can still bring back Winter, which the week before the marathon,
it actually did...
However the day was awesome. We started out 8:30am with a comfortable 7 degree Celsius (about 44 Fahrenheit)
and from there it got warmer... ending up at around 16 Celsius (about mit 60ies Fahrenheit).
Enough said below you'll find impressions of
a great run, perfect weather and most to mention, a great crowd !!!
See for yourself
Credits on a GREAT marathon weekend in Zurich & Bergdietikon
At this point I would like to thank two friends whose support was absolutely necessary to get me through this:
- Joerg Wilczynski (alias Iron Man)
with his ever support as a great training advisor, running partner and, not to
forget >>frustrator<<.
He managed early on my running comeback to frustrate the heck out of me on hills - to the extend that my ambition got
triggered ;-)) Just kidding - but over the course of my preparations he had lots of good advice.
Joerg, the KM milestone timings written on
the back of my hand worked out great !!!
- Ruth Schoenleber
Ruth was scheduled to run with us, but due to a severe cold she actually ended up to be our
support team, camera crew and, not to forget, perfect host for the weekend. The pictures you see on this web site wouldn't exist else.
Ruth, what great show you put on for us, from >>VIP Pasta Party<<, shuttle service to great host - we definitely owe you !!!
